This Privacy Policy explains how Marumaru, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use PonPon, our AI-powered effects application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• User-Provided Content: Photos, videos, and other media you upload to the App for processing with AI effects.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used and session duration.
• Purchase Information: Transaction records if you make in-app purchases, processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

2.1 Face Data

When you select a photo for AI video generation, our App uses on-device face detection (Google ML Kit) to help you identify and select faces in the image. Here is how we handle face data:

• What we detect on-device: Face bounding box coordinates (position and size) only. We do not collect facial landmarks, facial contours, face templates, or any biometric identifiers.
• On-device processing only: Face detection coordinates are processed entirely on your device, exist only in memory during the photo selection session, and are never transmitted to any server or stored on your device.
• Cropped face images: When you select a face, the App crops that region of your photo into a standard JPEG image. This cropped image (a standard photo, not biometric data) is uploaded to our servers for AI video generation.
• No biometric data: The App does not create, store, or transmit facial geometry maps, faceprints, or any data that could be used to uniquely identify an individual through facial characteristics.
• Purpose: Face detection is used solely to help you select and crop face regions from your photos for AI video generation. It is not used for facial recognition, user identification, authentication, or tracking.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and improve the AI effects processing services
• Process your media content to generate effects
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
• Communicate important updates about the App
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Processing and Storage

Media content you submit for AI processing is temporarily stored on our secure servers solely for the purpose of generating effects. We do not retain your content after processing is complete unless you explicitly save it to our cloud service. All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may utilize third-party AI services (such as fal.ai) for content processing. These services are bound by their own privacy policies and are contractually required to handle your data securely. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. We strictly distinguish between your uploaded source media and the final generated content:

• Uploaded Face Images (Source Data): The photos you upload for AI processing are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers and our third-party AI service provider (fal.ai) within 24 hours of processing completion.
• Generated Content: The final AI-generated videos and effects are retained on our servers to provide you with a history of your creations. This generated content is kept until you manually delete it within the App or until you delete your account.
• On-Device Data: On-device face detection coordinates are never stored and exist only in memory during the active photo selection session. Account-related data is retained until you request account deletion.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Export your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
